My wife and I are also small business owners in the District, so we are interested in helping D.C. improve the situation. We have seen things that we feel are holding us back as a county and we want to do everything we can to help improve the county and the services we currently have there,” he said. .

Cox said D.C. residents want new jobs, new businesses and better government services — and he wants to be a part of it.

If elected, he said he would be a “full-time” commissioner. Cox said he will be there for people and will come out and talk to them. He would also like to hold commissioner meetings at a time when workers can attend.

Cox said he believes the biggest issue if elected will be economic development. He wants to make D.C. attractive to outside businesses.
