Seattle Seahawks fans made humorous comparisons to the Seattle Mariners

Last weekend wasn’t the best for Seattle NFL fans.

The Seattle Seahawks lost 31-10 to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. It was a bad game for the Seahawks, who struggled to get anything going on offense and seemed unable to stop the Bills in any way on defense.

Seattle’s struggles were highlighted by the first drive, which found the team at the 27-yard line after the ball sailed over the head of quarterback Geno Smith.

On their next drive, the Seahawks had another goal line situation and made it on fourth down from the one yard line. Smith tripped over center Connor Williams’ foot, causing the team to turn the ball over on downs.

But as the old saying goes, laughter is the best medicine.

Fans were quick to make funny comparisons on social media between the Seahawks’ struggles on Sunday and the Seattle Mariners’ offensive missteps during the baseball season.

Other fans didn’t get the humor. Some even went so far as to say that Sailors were closer to championship glory than the Hawks.

For those who are fans of Seattle’s NFL and MLB franchises, the past seven months have been a struggle.

The Mariners missed the playoffs for the 22nd time in 23 years after leading the American League West by 10 games in June. The Seahawks’ loss to the Bills came a week after they had their most impressive game of the season, defeating the Atlanta Falcons 34-14.

But the Seattle Sounders made the Major League Soccer playoffs and the Seattle Storm made the WNBA postseason. There was also a storm recently crowned list of the WNBA’s most valuable teams.

So it’s not all bad for sports fans in Seattle.
