Luzerne County hits big with $1 million Cash 5 jackpot winner

MIDDLETOWN, PA. — A Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 with a Quick Cash ticket sold in Luzerne County won the $1 million jackpot in the Oct. 25 drawing, lottery officials announced. The winning ticket matched all five numbers drawn – 2, 8, 11, 13 and 33 – and secured the top prize.

The ticket was sold at the Food Express store located at 1003 North Vine Street in Hazleton. For selling a jackpot winning ticket, Food Express will receive a $5,000 bonus. The Pennsylvania Lottery requires winners to claim prizes within one year of the drawing date, and jackpot winners’ tickets must be verified before they can be identified.

In addition to the jackpot, more than 30,800 other Cash 5 with Quick Cash tickets from the Oct. 25 drawing also won prizes. Lottery officials advise all players to check their tickets and claim any lower tier winnings from lottery retailers.
