Greenville’s Dream Park Community Building opens today with ribbon cutting

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – After a nearly $2 million renovation, a former fire station will be dedicated as a new community resource Tuesday night with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The City of Greenville says the Dream Park Community Building will officially open during a ceremony set for 4 p.m. at 1700 Chestnut Street.

City officials say the facility underwent a $1.78 million renovation after once serving the community as Fire Station 2 for Greenville Fire Rescue.

According to the City of Greenville, the building ceased functioning as a fire station more than 40 years ago.

Officials say the building will be used for rentals and future programming.
