Nearly 20,000 people have already voted in Monroe County, according to the Pennsylvania Board of Elections. postal voting report on Monday.

As of 10 a.m. Monday, 19,902 mail-in and absentee ballots had been returned, according to county data entered into the State Unified Registry of Voters (SURE) system.

This was nearly two-thirds of the 30,458 ballot applications approved by that time.

As of Monday morning, mail-in and absentee ballot applications had been approved for 16,203 registered Democrats, 9,306 Republicans and 4,949 others in Monroe County.

Democrats returned 68.6% of their ballots, followed by Republicans with 64.3% and independents and third-party voters with 56.7%.

Tuesday, October 29th is the last day to request a mail-in or absentee ballot. The County Board of Elections must receive your application by 5:00 p.m.
