2024 Election Update: Harris lays out election options and stakes in DC speech

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley told Fox News’ Bret Baier Tuesday night that she hasn’t spoken to former President Donald Trump since June, but she would be willing to support his campaign if asked.

“The last time I talked to him was back in June,” Haley said. “They understand perfectly well that we are in a holding pattern. They know we will be there to help.”

“But look, we’re on the same team,” Haley continued. “It’s their campaign’s decision about what he needs in these last, last days, I’m not concerned at all.”

ABC News has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.

In the same interview, Haley condemned Trump’s messaging at a rally in New York earlier this week, calling it “overly masculine” and “edgy.” She said it was “harmful” to allow a comedian to disparage Puerto Ricans, and she thought the choice of speakers may have made women feel “uncomfortable.”

“Now is not the time for them to get too masculine in this bromance they’ve started,” she said. “Fifty-three percent of voters are women. Women will vote. They care about how they are spoken to.”

Despite this criticism, she said: “There is no animosity between me and the president. We want Donald Trump to win.”

Haley stressed that she is voting for Trump not because of his personality, but rather because of his policies, adding: “I don’t agree with Trump 100%, but I don’t agree with Kamala Harris on anything.”
