Joe Rogan explains why Kamala Harris didn’t come on the podcast

Joe Rogan released a rare behind-the-scenes statement to a podcast guest, posting a commentary on why V.P. Kamala Harris didn’t appear on his show.

Rogan says Harris’ team wanted Rogan to fly to New York to interview the presidential candidate and that their interview would be limited to one hour.

“For the record, the Harris campaign has not given up on doing the podcast,” Rogan said in the interview. comment on X. “They offered a date on Tuesday, but I would have to go to her, and they only wanted to sit there for an hour. I firmly believe that the best way to do this is in a studio in Austin. My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a person. I really hope we can make it happen.”

The update comes a week before the general election amid polls showing an extremely close race between Harris and Donald Trumpwhich appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience last week. Harris trails in the polls among young adults, who make up the largest portion of Rogan’s audience.

On Friday, Trump went to Rogan’s studio in Austin for an interview and sat there for nearly three hours. The episode has racked up an incredible 37 million views on YouTube, not counting people who listened to the episode through its home page on Spotify or other platforms.

Trump’s nominee, J.D. Vance, is now also available to appear on Rogan’s podcast. He will travel to Austin, Texas, on Wednesday for an interview expected to take place later this week, CNN and ABC News reported Tuesday.

Trump’s episode is currently the third most-watched episode on YouTube, behind the interview episode with UFO researchers Bob Lazar and Jeremy Corbell (61 million) and the episode with surveillance whistleblower Edward Snowden (38 million).

During the show, Trump ridiculed the idea of Harris appearing on the podcast and predicted that she would be “on the floor” and it would be a “mess.”

Rogan pulled back and said, “I can imagine her being on that show. She had to do it, and maybe she still will… I’ll try to talk to her… I won’t try to interview her. I would just try to talk to her and hopefully get to know her as a person.”
