East Reagan Parkway project in Medina expected to cause traffic delays

MEDINA, Ohio — Although East Reagan Boulevard will remain open during the ongoing rehabilitation project, City Engineer Patrick Patton is warning motorists that the work will likely cause congestion and traffic delays.

“The project has been approved and work is scheduled to begin this week, possibly Wednesday or Thursday,” Patton said Oct. 28. “East Reagan will remain open during the project, but will be one lane during construction and traffic will be maintained. through signaling devices and temporary signals.”

Although work on East Reagan Parkway has already begun, Parks and Recreation Director Jansen Wehrli said motorists may be relieved to know that the finishing touches on West Smith Road are officially complete.

Wehrly announced that the city’s forestry department had just completed its fall tree planting program.

“We have planted a total of 84 trees throughout the city, including 33 on West Smith Road on a site that has just been completed and is now complete,” he said.

Also during the meeting, Economic Development Director Kimberly Marshall announced that people are starting to pay attention to the city’s new workforce and talent newsletter.

“We started this about a month ago and so far 195 people have signed up,” she said. “Every week we can highlight four or five local companies that have openings.”

Marshall said anyone interested in subscribing to the newsletter can visit www.medinaoh.org and scroll to the bottom of the screen. They will find a subscribe button where they can fill out all the required information.
