Freddie Freeman cries uncontrollably about saving his father as a child in an interview with ESPN

Freddie Freeman was an irresistible force in World Series and a hero for Los Angeles Dodgers against New York Yankees.

Who knows how the 35-year-old slugger’s life would have been different if he hadn’t played a hero when he was just a child, saving his father’s life when he was 12, having already lost his mother to cancer.

Clear favorite to win World Series MVP after hit a home run in every game fall classics so far (including today’s fourth game after already set a new Guinness world record), Freeman broke down in tears, sobbing as he described the day his life almost changed forever.

“I’m just sitting in this (hospital) room,” the Dodgers first baseman said. told ESPN “E:60”. “The doctor comes into the room, and I am with my father. And he says, Mr. Freeman, you’re lucky you came to the hospital tonight. If you hadn’t come and gone to bed, you would most likely have died in your sleep.”

Fred Freeman, Freddie’s father, said matter-of-factly, “Freddie really saved my life that night.” Freeman’s father had congestive heart failure, so Freddie taking his father to the hospital literally saved his life.

“At 12 years old, I was close to being left without parents,” Freeman concluded.

Freeman handled life’s adversities as smoothly as he handled his swing. He and his wife Chelsea got a major scare this season in late July when their youngest son, 3-year-old Max, was rushed to the hospital during the season. It was a horrific ordeal and he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological disease. Mrs Freeman gave touching news earlier this month, Max was able to come into her arms for the first time since his diagnosis.
