BHP boss warns Labour’s foreign relations laws will create more conflicts

BHP boss Mike Henry has warned that Labor’s workplace changes are preparing the economy for another period of industrial crisis, just days after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese vowed to union delegates that changes to his government’s hiring would voters will judge, not business or the Opposition.

It is estimated that the Albanian government’s “same work, same pay” laws will add an extra $1.3 billion a year to BHP’s costsMr Henry said after the group’s annual general meeting on Wednesday that the laws threatened to cost the mining company and the wider economy significant productivity and competitiveness.
