Ted Danson apologizes to Kelsey Grammer over decades-long ‘Cheers’ dispute

Ted Danson compensates with Kelsey Grammar It was a few years after the duo had a falling out while starring together on “Cheers.”

Grammer appeared in Danson and Woody Harrelson’s series. SiriusXM podcast On Wednesday, he reunited with his former “Cheers” co-stars on “Where Everybody Knows Your Name.”

“I feel like I got a little stuck with you during the ‘Cheers’ years,” Danson said to Grammer, who seemed to remember the moment.

“I remember getting mad at you once,” Danson continued. “I feel like I missed the last 30 years of Kelsey Grammer,” he said. “I feel like it was my fault, I did it, and I almost want to apologize to you,” Danson said. “No, I don’t feel that way. I apologize to both you and me for sitting back,” he continued.

Grammer responded in kind after reminiscing about their time together, saying, “My love for you has always been as easy as a day, you know, as easy as a sunrise, so, whatever,” Grammer said while Danson agreed.

“Cheers” aired from 1982 to 1993 and was about the goings-on at a bar in Boston. In addition to Danson, Grammer and Harrelson, the cast included names such as Shelley Long, Kirstie Alley, Rhea Perlman, John Ratzenberger and George Wendt.

Following his time on Cheers, where he played Frasier Crane, Grammer starred on the spinoff series Frasier, reprising his beloved role, from 1993 to 2004. The series was revived in 2023.
