Boyd Gaming begins work on a casino replacement for Jokers Wild next month

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Plans continue for a new casino to replace Jokers Wild in Henderson.

In July I told you about the Cadence Crossing project. when was it announced.

It will be located on a 15-acre site near Boulder Highway and Warm Springs Road and will include a 10,000-square-foot casino, 450 slot machines and several restaurants.

During the company’s conference call Wednesday, Boyd Gaming CEO Keith Smith said they plan to break ground on the project next month and open Cadence Crossing in early 2026.

“Cadence will start as a small development with 450 beds and a few restaurants, but it will be a project designed to grow with the master-planned community of Cadence, which will have more than 12,000 homes at final completion,” Smith said. “There are plans to add a hotel, additional casino space and other amenities in the future to serve the growing Cadence community.”

While they announced that the groundbreaking would take place soon, an exact date had not been announced as of Wednesday.

Jokers Wild Casino will remain open during construction, but will close permanently once the new building is operational.

As for other projects throughout the valley, Smith said Boyd Gaming is investing a lot of time and money into its properties to continue attracting customers.

“We are completing a major refurbishment of the Gold Coast premises and are starting new projects in Orleans,” Mr Smith said. “We have large-scale renovation of the entire area is currently playing in Sunny Beach. At the beginning of September we introduced a new modern bookmaker’s office, causing a strong response from customers. The opening follows a new high-limit lounge and premium steakhouse in Suncoast. Over the next 12 months, we will continue this project at Suncoast with a complete renovation of the casino, a new food hall and expanded meeting space.”
