HANOVERTON – Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno, accompanied by Sen. Tim Scott (R), South Carolina, was greeted with applause and chants. “Bernie, Bernie, Bernie” when they arrived Wednesday morning at the Spread Eagle Tavern in Hanover for a rally to encourage attendees to vote and convince their friends to vote for the all-Republican ballot in the 2024 general election on Nov. 5.

This is Moreno’s second attempt to win a Senate seat. He dropped out of the 2022 race and now faces a tough race against incumbent Senator Sherrod Brown (D). Libertarian Donald Kissick is also running for the same Senate seat.

Moreno told the crowd of about 150 people that he needed to win the election for the GOP to take control of the Senate.

Early voting was emphasized by Moreno, Scott, state Rep. and incumbent Monica Robb Blasdel, 79th District, who also asked for support for herself, incumbent Sen. Al Cutrona and other Republican officials and candidates attending the rally.

D.C. Republican Party Chairman David Johnson said voters need to encourage their neighbors and friends to do everything they can to get out and vote. He noted that the key to Republican electoral victory will be voter turnout, and large turnout in counties like Columbia will be needed to pull ahead of larger urban areas like Cleveland and Akron, where Democrats have a strong presence.

Moreno has also campaigned for former President and presidential candidate Donald Trump (R), vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance (R), a Republican Supreme Court justice and “No” Question 1 vote that will determine who will handle Ohio’s redistricting.

Moreno told the crowd of people gathered at the rally that they should fire Brown, and then he would go to Washington, D.C., take an Uber, go to the Capitol and fire Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and then Scott would replace Brown as chairman. Bancassurance Committee, which he said is one of the most powerful committees in Congress.

Moreno, Scott and other Republicans in attendance sharply criticized the Democratic Party’s majority throughout the rally.

Scott said that without the 51st Republican senator, who would be Moreno if he wins, there would be no way to close the borders or end Bidennomics, and Moreno would have to become the 51st Republican senator. Scott also encouraged those in attendance to invite their neighbors, friends and families to come to the polls to vote.

Scott told the crowd that if Moreno does not become the 51st Republican senator, the first vote the Democratic-majority Senate will take will be a filibuster, a tactic used to delay or stop a vote on an issue, and then – for the country. there will be 52 states, including Puerto Rico and Washington, DC. The crowd greeted him with boos. He also said the Supreme Court would have 15 members because the court would be filled with Democrats.

Moreno told the crowd he wanted them all to have a plan when they left the rally to get out and vote.

“This is the most important election of our lives. When these kids grow up, you will talk to them about November 5, 2024.” Moreno said, pointing to the children in the audience. “This is the day this country decided it was going to restore our constitutional principles.”

Moreno told a story about visiting a charter school for low-income children in Columbus and one of the students said, “That’s Bernie Moreno.” Moreno laughed and said they advertise too much. He went on to say that another kid raised his hand and said you’re running for the United States Senate, and another kid said you’re running against Sherrod Brown. He then said another child, a six-year-old, told him he was going to win and he asked the boy why he thought he would win. According to Moreno, the little boy told him: “Because Sherrod Brown is too liberal for Ohio.”

Near the end of his speech, Moreno said Brown was ahead by about 10 points as of Monday.

After the speeches, Moreno spent a couple of minutes talking with the press. Moreno told the press: “If you’re an average American here in Ohio, things are bad, it’s tough. If you’re a young person, you can’t afford a house, you can’t afford a car, you can’t afford to have children, and that’s what we need to fix.” He also said Brown is all talk and no action and his campaign is completely fake.

Moreno also said it will be a tight race that will come down to the wire.

“Please vote, please vote for one or the other. Even if you don’t want to vote for me or President Trump, voice your voice and be heard.” – Moreno said. “The only thing that makes America unique is that a billionaire or someone down on their luck has the same number of votes. Make your vote count.”

Moreno then mingled, mingled and took selfies with the crowd before heading to the Spread Eagle Tavern for a private lunch.
