At least four killed in overnight Russian strike on Ukrainian city of Kharkov

At least four people were killed in an attack by Russian troops on the Ukrainian city of Kharkov, according to regional governor Oleg Sinegubov.

The strike was reportedly carried out using a KAB guided bomb, destroying two houses and damaging dozens more.

The attack came just hours after a Russian FAB-500 bomb hit the historically significant Gosprom building, which has had UNESCO enhanced protection status since 2022.

According to the National Police of Ukraine, at least nine people were injured as a result of the strike, one of whom was an on-duty police officer.

The attack also damaged a medical center and several administrative buildings.

Meanwhile, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, Russia launched drones into the Ukrainian capital Kyiv overnight, injuring three people.

The drone’s debris caused a fire in a residential building in the Solomyansky district of Kyiv, and nearby cars and a commercial building also caught fire.

The gas supply to the area was turned off after the gas pipeline was damaged, and emergency gas services were sent to the site of the shelling due to the risk of depressurization of the gas system, said the head of the Kyiv city military administration, Sergei Popko.

The fire at the facility is reported to have been extinguished.
