‘I’m going to stab him’ – Mike Tyson says his own mother won’t be safe in the ring, chilling warning to Jake Paul

Tyson is expected to be aggressive and push for a stoppage in front of a crowd of 80,000 at At&T Stadium in Texas.

The fight will last eight rounds of two minutes, a format that could benefit the heavy-handed legend.

And he believes Paul’s tactics may be negative, given the imminent threat to his power despite his age.

Asked if he fears for Paul given what he’s up against, he told talkSPORT’s Adam Catterall in an exclusive interview that Paul knows what he’s getting into.

“Whoever is in this ring has a problem with me,” he said. “If my mom gets in the ring, she’ll have a problem with me. Don’t get into this ring if you don’t want this problem.”

The warning was chilling and reminded Paul and his fans what he was getting into. In his prime, he was the youngest heavyweight champion to ever make it through the heavyweight division in the 1980s.

During his heyday, his strength was unmatched and he was often able to defeat opponents before the opening bell even rang.

The Hall of Famer famously said that everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth, and when asked what he expected when Paul felt forced, the former undisputed heavyweight champion replied: “I can see him is running around and I have to try to catch him and kill him.

“He’s a good little fighter, but he’s only had ten fights, which in our area is considered an amateur.”

Floor was swollen to around 230 pounds to try to match the strength of the former undisputed heavyweight champion.

He regularly spoke of being “afraid” of the power of the legend, culminating in him achieving an 88 percent knockout rate in his professional career.

Even though Tyson is still far from his prime when he could win a fight before the opening bell, he showed that he still packs a ferocious punch. We publish training footage about his crushing blows in the camp.

The veteran even dropped his partner during a sparring session in preparation, warning the “problem child” that he should be taken seriously despite his age.

Paul is confident he takes Tyson seriously and believes his physical advantages will counter the legend’s natural strength.

He said: “He can’t bite my ear off if I knock out his teeth.

“I’m a faster person. He’s a lot stronger, but I’m fresh. He’s experienced.

“I’m smart, but in the ring he can be smarter, so it’s a really interesting fight.

“It will be hard. He looks like a beast, he is a dog, he is “iron” Mike Tyson.

“But I believe I have what it takes to beat him and I know this is the toughest test of my life and I’m honored to be there with Mike.

“But at the end of the day, I’ll be the one who raises my hand.”

The Paul-Tyson fight will pit the pair 31 years apart and on completely different physical levels.

Although this is a significant fee for the heavyweight legend, who is expected to earn around $20 million.

Tyson has not competed since 2005, when he retired after three losses in his last four fights, including in his last bow vs. Kevin McBride.

But after competing with Roy Jones Jr in 2020, he will be confident he has the strength to handle the less experienced Paul.
