JV12 Dakota Lancers win back-to-back Winnipeg high school football championships

For the second season in a row, the Dakota Lancers JV12 football team is crowned league champion.

The Lancers took on the Oak Park Raiders at Princess Auto Stadium on Wednesday.

It was a running story as Dakota came back to win 39-33 and claim their second championship in as many years.

The JV9 semi-final also took place on Wednesday, with a place in the final at stake.

Vincent Massey The Brandon Vikings beat the Steinbach Sabers 29-21 and the Miles Mac Buckeyes beat the Grant Park Pirates 26-9.

The JV9 final will take place on November 7th.

The rest of the playoff picture will look clearer with six games scheduled on Thursday.
