Shelter provides update on dogs rescued from Burton hoarding situation

FENTON, MI (WNEM) — The Fenton shelter has provided an update on some of the dogs that were rescued from a hoarding in Burton in mid-October.

Adopt-A-Pet of Fenton shared photos of the dogs two weeks after they were rescued from a home in Burton.

The shelter said the photos were taken after they received medical attention and care.

“This was one of the worst cases I have seen in my 23 years of working at Adopt-A-Pet,” the shelter said in a Facebook post.

According to the shelter, all dogs are doing great because they have clean living conditions, fresh food and water every day, soft beds and blankets, toys and love. The shelter reported that they had all gained weight and their anemia had resolved.

The shelter said some dogs are still on the road to recovery and some have already been adopted into their forever homes.
