China’s box office revenue this year has topped 38 billion yuan ($5.3 billion) as of Oct. 29, according to data firm Dengta Data. By the end of the year, the release of 51 new films should raise the country’s box office to new heights.

Three films – sci-fi adventure “Venom: The Last Dance”, Japanese animated film “Look Back” and domestic thriller “The Invisible Sister” – also helped boost the box office this week.

Meanwhile, re-runs of the Harry Potter series have left generations of moviegoers nostalgic for the fantastical wizarding world.

The Wujiaochang Wanda Cinema held the grand premiere of domestic crime film “Inside” on Wednesday. Based on a true story, director Guo Dalu’s latest film will hit theaters in China on November 8th.
