Steve King: Hednesford Town manager sacked ahead of FA Cup first round match

Hednesford Town have confirmed the sacking of manager Steve King just a day before their FA Cup first round appearance.

The club said in a statement that the decision followed a “severance in the relationship” between King and the club’s board.

The interim management team of Martin Hunter, Junior Lewis and Andy Turner will take charge of Saturday’s home match against Gainsborough Trinity.

“The club’s priority is to maintain the principles of integrity and professionalism in all matters,” the statement said.
