LCD Soundsystem confirms new album and shares ‘X-ray eyes’: Stream

James Murphy has officially confirmed that the new LCD audio system the album is on its way and a new song has been released “X-ray eyes” for DSP.

After a busy year of performing at music festivals around the world, LCD Soundsystem debuted the X-Ray Eyes on NTS Radio DJ Anu’s Soup to Nuts show last month. Once LCD Soundsystem was introduced to the line Primavera Sound 2025 last week festival confirmed that they will appear with a new album.

Now James Murphy has released a statement confirming that a new LCD Soundsystem album is in the works, which will be their first full-length album since 2017. American dream. Read his full statement below.

“So now there is a new song for LCD called “X ray Eyes”.

This is the first single from the upcoming album. don’t ask me when this will happen because we are still working on it. but it’s really nice to release new music. we’ve released a small batch of silkscreened 12″ discs that will be sold at the upcoming shows in Los Angeles and New York, and DFA will have limited access to them, but don’t worry if you don’t get any because there will be some more. a readily available commercial release of the same record when we can put it together. we just collected a bunch of white labels and are checking 100 of them at every show. This is a short delivery time. and it’s fun.

but no, there is no finished LP yet. but when we don’t play shows, everything gets closer and closer to completion. so this is news. everything else you hear is nonsense.

Their new song “X-ray Eyes” is LCD Soundystem’s first new song since 2022. “Rumba for a new body.” Following the premiere of “X-Ray Eyes,” we originally wrote, “With its pummeling keyboards, fun vocals, and predictably danceable drum machine beat, the song displays several of LCD Soundsystem’s hallmarks. James Murphy mutters in a half-sung voice that he has eyes that “see from within” and “see through your disguise” before whispering “X-ray eyes” in the chorus. Meanwhile, a flute-like synth dances around the track as the song’s contrasting keyboard lines become increasingly restless.” Stream “X-Ray Eyes” below.

Confirmation of the song and album comes as LCD Soundsystem is in the midst of its work. Los Angeles residencewhich they started on Thursday evening.
