Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson returns to practice

Baltimore Ravens fans can finally relax.

After missing the past two practices Superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to practice Friday with back and knee injuries, according to local media reports.

Head coach John Harbaugh previously said Jackson took a “rest day” on Wednesday, but his absence Thursday raised some eyebrows. However, he appears to be feeling better now, which is obviously good news heading into Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos.

Josh Johnson has been running the offense in Jackson’s absence and, at least according to his teammates, things are going smoothly.

“It’s been a great week of practice for us right now, guys are flying around, running incredible routes and the linemen are doing our thing, so that’s all we’re doing,” tight end Mark Andrews said Thursday. “And we’re lucky to have a guy like Josh (Johnson) training, but we’re confident in everyone we have.”

Midway through the season, Jackson plays one of the best footballs of his career and is in talks for his third MVP award. In eight games, he completed 66.9 percent of his passes for 2,099 yards, 17 touchdowns and just two interceptions, along with 501 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He is obviously the heart and soul of the Ravens and they need him at full strength to be successful.

The Ravens and Broncos kick off at 1:00 pm ET at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday, and Jackson will hopefully be under center for Baltimore.
