Woman screams after seeing friends and relatives from an unexpected proposal (exclusive)

In a moment worthy of a horror movie, one woman screamed at the top of her lungs after turning around during her proposal to see all her friends and family.

Bride-to-be Amy Moore, 23, shared Tik Tok video captured her “real” scream during her surprise engagement to Malik Brookins, 25, on October 25 in Malibu, California. The Oscar-worthy squeal didn’t match the elegant atmosphere of the romantic setting surrounded by white roses, but it made the moment all the more special.

“Honestly, the moment I turned the corner and saw Malik, I had no idea what to do. Part of me already suspected that they would propose to me, but then I thought about it. that there was no way out,” Moore told PEOPLE. “So when I finally met my current fiancé, I immediately went into shock.”

She continues: “In the best sense, the whole proposal was a blur! I remember crying, laughing, and then crying again. I was already in such shock that when I turned around and saw my family and friends… it’s completely honest. scared me! It was so funny because I didn’t have to turn around and see them yet.”

In the video, Brookins quickly turns Moore around to face him after she spotted her loved ones early on. “He’s like FOCUS ,” reads one of the most popular comments on TikTok.

“All I was thinking at that moment was: ‘Whose house is this?’ And I turned around and saw my family and friends who had flown across the country, and his close friends and family!” Moore says. “There was so much shock going on! What the video also didn’t capture was that my fiancée had also flown in with my best friend from New York, whom I rarely see, she has never been on a plane before!

Moore was told she was attending a friend’s surprise birthday party that day. Of course, the guests had to be dressed in white, and the birthday girl in color. Although Moore says she waited a while for the proposal and remained “on guard” every day, she completely fell for Brookins’ phony party plan.

“When I got together with my friends who were also present, they also wore white, but later, when the proposal was made, they changed into dresses of a different color,” Moore explains. “Malik lives in Florida, so he can’t be the one to tell me to wear a white dress or I’ll get suspicious!”

At sunset, Brookins took Moore outside to a beautiful spot overlooking the mountains and ocean, where Abby Gamboa’s “Pure” was playing. The song is important to the couple because it shows how “pure” their relationship is. Moore is a licensed minister and Malik is a pastor serving at his parents’ church.

“When I saw Malik get down on one knee, I couldn’t believe it was actually happening!” Moore told PEOPLE, adding that he proposed with a three-carat emerald-cut diamond and gold band. “All I could do was cry and fall to the ground. The amount of gratitude I felt in that moment was overwhelming.”

The couple prayed together several times during their proposal. Brookins then played “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole, a song he played on the way home from their first date.

“Truly, the whole day was a dream and beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of,” says Moore, who then celebrated and danced with her friends and family.

Brookins and Moore met nearly four years ago at the Passion Christian Conference in Atlanta. Even though they only dated in November 2023, Moore knew he was the one. “I immediately saw him and thought he was the most handsome man I had ever seen,” she recalls.

Moore adds, “I will never forget his smile, what he was wearing, and how intentional he was while we were talking. I walked away completely amazed by him. I remember how at that moment I cried out to God, saying: “God let this man be my future husband or give me someone better.” I don’t think there was anyone better than what God had in mind for me, Malik truly is the best.”
