Lupita Nyong’o created the perfect “storm” for Halloween!

At the premiere of the musical Off-Broadway Teeth on Thursday, October 31, That Wild robot actress — who played Nakia in Black Pantherand its sequel Wakanda foreverdressed as another Marvel character.

Photographers photographed 41-year-old Nyong’o on the red carpet in a suit X-Men superhero Storm, mutant with the ability to control the weather. For her look, the Oscar winner channeled Storm’s signature style with a bright white curly wig and a stack of thick gold necklaces, which she accessorized over an all-black ensemble.

She even wore white contact lenses to imitate the bleak eyes of the electrifying hero.

Staying in character, Nyong’o posted video from Instagram showing how Storm controls the weather (or at least controls the water from the bathroom sink). In the clip, Nyong’o stood at the sink and washed her hands. Soaking wet, she threw drops of water into the camera and moved her wrist in a circle.

“*Employees must wash their hands* – Marvel Management,” the actress captioned the post.

Teeth is an adaptation of the 2007 horror comedy of the same name.

The film, which has gained fan acclaim in the years since its release, tells the story of a high school student named Dawn who, after being sexually assaulted, discovers that she has a physical advantage in the form of teeth. her genitals, which help her bite the men in her world – literally.

Jess Weixler stars in the film as Dawn, joined by Jon Hensley, Julia Garro and Josh Pace.

The musical emulates the story seen on screen and is described in the official release as “a poignant tale of revenge and transformation that cuts through the culture of shame and repressed desire, one deliciously demented song at a time.”

Other characters highlighted include Dawn’s fanatical Christian evangelist pastor (three-time Tony Award nominee Andy Karl), who guides Dawn and her community of fellow “Promise Keeper Girls” in their chastity club. Then there’s her half-brother Brad (Will Connolly), who joins an online men’s support group called Truth Seekers when his repressive upbringing alienates him.

Other main roles in the musical are played by Jason Gotay and Jared Loftin. The ensemble includes Courtney Bassett, Jenna Rose Hasley, Michaela Lamas, Madison McBride, Sydney Parra and Ren Rivera. Julia Bain, Sean Doherty, Michael Doliner, Kira Kennedy and stunt double James Sasser.

Anna K. Jacobs (POP!) and Pulitzer Prize/Tony Award winner Michael R. Jackson (Strange loop) helped bring Teeth to the stage they are working together on a book from a screenplay by Mitchell Lichtenstein. They also wrote the music together, with Jacobs writing the music and Jackson writing the lyrics.

Directed by Obie Award winner Sarah Benson.

Teeth The original premiered Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons in February 2024 and ran through April.
