Annual Lunch with Santa charity program needs partners in Penticton – Penticton News

Sprott Shaw College is hosting its 25th annual Lunch with Santa in Penticton and is looking for community partners to help make the beloved event as great as ever.

The event will take place on November 30th and will include food, a gift basket raffle, activities for children and, of course, Santa himself.

Organizers are now hoping community partners can help with monetary donations, donations of materials, services or hosting a children’s activity booth.

The event fee is $8, but once inside, all activities and lunch of homemade mac and cheese, hot dogs and juice are free.

Additional activities could include face painting, coloring, crafts, cookie decorating, a bouncy castle, or anything else the child might enjoy.

“Every visitor has the opportunity to enter into a drawing to win one of our amazing gift baskets along with their admission ticket,” explains Sprott Shaw in a press release.

“We are raising money for our charity by selling additional raffle tickets.”

This year, that charity will be the Kids Feeding Kids program, initiated by the Kiwanis Club of Penticton in partnership with the Penticton Foundry branch. It will support food security and provide mentorship to local youth in healthy cooking.

Anyone interested in participating in the annual Lunch with Santa can email Zola Goebel, event coordinator and “executive elf,” at (email protected) to discuss participation options.

“Together with your support, we can make this time of year unforgettable for the children of Penticton and support a very valuable initiative,” Goebel said.
