“Kashmir Muslims will regret the exodus of the Pandits.”

“Kashmir Muslims will regret the exodus of the Pandits.”

Asserting that the majority population of Kashmir will one day regret the “exodus” of Kashmiri Pandits, Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday said Kashmir is incomplete without their presence.

Singh said that after the abrogation of Article 370, there have been significant positive changes in Jammu and Kashmir and that deep down, the common people, including the Muslims of Kashmir, are happy about it.

“Kashmir is no longer Kashmir without the presence of Kashmiri Pandits. The composite culture that Kashmir is already known for was made possible by the presence of the Kashmiri Pandit community there,” Singh said while addressing those present here.

The minister, who inaugurated the Mata Saraswati Auditorium at Gandhi Memorial College, said, “I have no hesitation in saying this. Even though it sounds orthodox or even rebellious, I said that the day will come when the majority of the population of Kashmir will regret the exodus of the Pandits, I believe that this will happen soon.” He said the values of holistic education once instilled in children are now fading.
