YouTube launches ‘Partner Shopping Program’ in India in partnership with Flipkart and Myntra

YouTube emphasized that this extension complements the existing YouTube Shopping feature, which allows eligible creators to promote their products by linking their stores to their YouTube channels.

The YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program builds on existing monetization options including ad revenue, YouTube Premium, Brand Connect, as well as fan-powered features such as Channel Membership, Super Thanks, Super Chat, and Super Stickers, giving creators a robust set of tools for success on platform.

“With the ‘YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program’, we aim to enhance customer experience and engagement as they continue to use Flipkart and Myntra by enabling product discovery through creator videos on YouTube. Our innovative approach to product discovery will strengthen customer trust and loyalty as we continue to embrace the opportunities that video commerce offers,” said Ravi Iyer, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategic Partnerships, Flipkart Group.

According to YouTube, as of December 2023, more than 110,000 channels in India have crossed 100,000 subscribers.

Notably, over 65 percent of Indian consumers trust YouTube creators more than traditional celebrities, significantly influencing their purchasing decisions through authentic connections, as highlighted in the e-Conomy India report.
