Martin Supreme will call match point on Sunday when Banyaya crashes out of Sepang

Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) took a decisive Tissot Sprint victory at the Petronas Grand Prix in Malaysia, scoring the maximum possible points of 12. The number 89 won by 0.913 seconds. Mark Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP), who started strongly from fifth place and maintained the gap to the championship leader in the final stages. Meanwhile, Aeneas Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) took third place on the decisive day of the championship after Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) crashed out on the third lap. The Italian’s mistake allowed Martin to extend his lead to 29 points, setting up match point on Sunday.

As the lights went down, #TheRematch as Martin made a thrilling start, seizing control of the Tissot Sprint at turn one. Tensions were high on the opening lap, with the #89 making an incredible start from second on the grid as Bagnaia and Marc Marquez remained in hot pursuit.

Martin immediately brought the hammer down, putting maximum pressure on Banaya, who was forced to close the gap. Number 1 worked hard in the opening laps, starting to close in on the championship leader at each stage until he was glued to Martin’s tailpipe – the fight for the title was on.

However, on the third lap, Banai’s title defense received a huge blow when the No. 1 made a decisive mistake at turn nine – losing the lead and crashing out in second place. The Ducati Lenovo team could not believe their eyes as Bagnaia was forced to watch the rest of the sprint from the sidelines. It was a serious mistake that gave Martin a 29-point lead in the championship after Bagnaia scored nil.

Bagnai’s error caused a huge shake-up in the top three, with Marc Marquez second and Bastianini third. It was an incredible start from The Beast, fighting from sixth position on the grid. Bastianini created a strong lead Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP) and the No. 73 remained fourth after an incredible start on the front row.

Martin had to stay focused, leading by less than one second as Marc Marquez continued to put pressure on the number 89. The leaders continued to move at a high pace, with the top three drivers remaining consistent and maintaining their lead during a tense 10-lap battle.

Further back, Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) had some success at the start, catching the rear Jack Miller(Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) RC16. It was an exciting battle for the final points between the Pierer Mobility riders and the newcomer was looking for an opportunity to pounce.

In the final stages, Martin remained calm and aimed to win the sprint, gaining the maximum possible 12 points. The number 89 finished 0.913 seconds ahead of Marc Marquez and Bastianini. Martin now has a chance to win the world championship on Sunday if he scores nine points more than Banaya.

Alex Marquez finished fourth and has his sights set on Sunday’s podium in Malaysia after beating Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP), with the Frenchman completing the top five. It was another amazing ride from #20 that ends early on Saturday Franco Morbidelli (Prima Pramak Racing). Meanwhile, Brad Binder claimed the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing title by finishing seventh ahead of Miller. The Australian was able to hold on to eighth place as he continued to fend off Acosta in the closing laps.
