PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Malaysian Embassy in Phnom Penh, has successfully facilitated the return of 11 Malaysians who were victims of a fraud syndicate in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.

The ministry, also known as Wisma Putra, said in a statement on Friday that one of them returned to Malaysia on October 25 and the remaining 10 are expected to arrive in Malaysia on November 1.

The ministry expresses its gratitude to the Cambodian authorities for their cooperation and assistance in rescuing and facilitating the return of the victims to Malaysia, it added.

“The ministry continues to intensify efforts to address the problem of Malaysian citizens falling victim to fraud syndicates,” the statement said.

The ministry reminded Malaysians who are interested in seeking employment abroad to exercise caution and check the nature of any job offered.

Malaysians are also advised to comply with immigration laws and regulations when traveling abroad, it added. – Bernama
