Quarterbacks Confuse Fantasy Football Owners

Quarterbacks Confuse Fantasy Football Owners

The quarterback position appears to have taken an awkward step backwards. fantasy football this season.

Speedy QBs like Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts are considered the gold standard.

Seeing young players like Jaden Daniels and even Bo Nix improve their value with extra yards and touchdowns seems to be what everyone craves the most.

But there aren’t enough of them even in a 10-team league.

This puts the onus on us to find quality pocket passers who can consistently score points.

Easier said than done in an era where people are eager to bench Patrick Mahomes.

But Week 9 gives us some matchups for pocket passers that we need to invest in.

Sure, you could take a high-floor guy like Sam Darnold or Jared Goff, but the ceiling for both—based on scheme, matchup, and history—is a bit limited and nobody cares.

If you need a quarterback and are looking for room to grow, look to Matthew Stafford or Caleb Williams.

Both are in strong matchups and could hit the performance ceiling you want.

With Stafford, it should be easy to see.

The returns of Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua bolster the Rams’ passing attack so much that Stafford’s 300 yards and three touchdowns seem more like a viable possibility than a pipe dream.

This is an important game against the Seahawks as both teams are fighting for position in the NFC West and Seattle’s defense has struggled, losing four of its last five games.

For some, broadcasting Williams may be a challenge, especially after last week’s struggles with what was supposed to be a soft Chiefs defense.

The Bears reeled off three straight wins over subpar opponents and then had a bye week.

They were not adequately prepared for the meeting with Washington.

This week they will be ready to face the Cardinals, a defense that ranks 29th in DVOA against the pass, allows the seventh most passes per game and has allowed 11 touchdowns through the air.

On top of that, opposing quarterbacks have an overall QB rating of 101.4.

With his arsenal of pass catchers, Williams needs to be in style.
