Cats rescued from North Myrtle Beach house fire

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue responding to a report of a structure fire just after 1:30 a.m. Friday in the 500 block of 27th Avenue South.

Crews arrived to find flames in an attached storage room at the rear of the duplex, as well as in the duplex.

Using both interior and exterior attacks, crews were able to extinguish the fire in the main structure and attic, as well as the storage area.

Rescuers managed to find three cats in the house and returned them safely to their owner.

The scene was cleared around 4:30 a.m. and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
