Google Messages is coming with three changes that will take your text messaging experience to the next level.

According to a code study conducted by the folks at Google Messages, three new features could be coming to Google Messages. Android authority.

First, Google’s messaging app change the location of read receiptswhich tell you whether your message is in transit, has been sent, delivered or read, and also changes the animation style.

This function been at work for a while and has finally started spreading among some users. After the change, the receipts will be moved from under the text bubble to inside it. In addition, Google has also created a new animation for them.

The second possible change hinted at in the latest beta version of the Messages app (version messages.android_20241029_00_RC00.phone_samsung_openbeta_dynamic): allowing you to choose the image resolution. WhatsApp already offers a similar feature.

This will allow you to decide whether you want to send the image in HD or standard quality. This will reduce the quality of the image, but will allow you to send it faster using less data. Selecting the other option, HD+, minimizes compression to preserve the original resolution, but sending the image will take longer and consume more data.

Finally, Google is trying to make it easier for you to browse when every message you send has been sent. Currently, viewing timestamps requires you to click on each individual message, which can be annoying.

Google may introduce a feature that will allow you to view the timestamps of all messages by simply swiping right on the screen. This will save you from having to click on each individual message to view timestamps.

While improved read receipts are likely coming to you soon, two other features are in development and Google may decide to scrap or delay them, so don’t hold your breath.
