Fight O’Shakey Foster vs. Robson Conceicao: current updates, results

After a controversial decision in July, Robson Conceicao and O’Shaquie Foster are bringing it back.

On Saturday, Foster will challenge Conceicao for the WBC junior lightweight title. Foster had held the belt for over a year prior to this. Conceicao beat him this summer. controversial split decision. The decision caused an immediate backlash from most boxing fans, who felt that Foster had done more than enough to win, outpointing Conceicao in 10 of the 12 rounds.

WBC as soon as possible ordered an immediate rematchand just four months later the fighters are ready to step into the ring again.

“I’m not really trying to dwell on the judges (in the first fight),” Foster said at the press conference. “I wish them all the best, but in this fight I plan to come out and dominate to the best of my ability.”

Madera continues to pick spots to release his hands, but throws very few punches, even when on his front foot. Tucker pinned Madera against the ropes, and in the middle of the round both fighters exchanged accurate blows to the body. Madera seemed to land a few more punches in this round but was still in control of Taker.

Tucker landed consistent strikes in the first minute, forcing Madera back. Madera couldn’t get to Taker, most of his punches simply missed Taker’s gloves. Tucker went all three rounds.

Tucker didn’t hesitate to get inside Madera and land a pair of hard left hooks. Tucker looks good on defense, using body movement to avoid most of Madera’s strikes. Tucker still keeps his hands down at mid-range, but Madera couldn’t capitalize on that.

Tucker is looking for a third straight win while Madera is coming off back-to-back losses. Tucker starts on the front foot, looks confident and throws quick shots while keeping his guard low. Madera looked to stand his ground and trade throughout, but Tucker got the better of the trades inside.

Forecast for the fight O’Shaki Foster – Robson Conceicao

If not for the unexpected results, the first fight between Foster and Conceicao would not have lived long in the memory of boxing fans due to the lack of dynamism. A rematch likely won’t be in the fight of the year conversation either, but it should provide more action as Foster is likely to improve his offensive output and the July decision is still in the spotlight.

Foster boxed and moved well in his last fight, barely getting hit by Conceicao despite the Brazilian. dealt more than 700 blows (landed at a rate of 10.8%). We’ll likely see similar defensive resilience from him while he slightly increases the pressure on Conceicao in hopes of getting the better of the judges this time.

Conceicao said he will try to make a statement in this fight, but he will have to find a way to land more meaningful punches as his strategy used in the July fight is unlikely to produce the same result if Saturday’s rematch ends.
