First, she pointed out the custom Missoni rugs that add color and texture to her grand staircase.

“I just think it’s great because it brings all the colors of the house together. And it’s a little modern, but doesn’t clash with everything else going on in this house,” she said, referring to the blues, greens and reds included in the zigzag pattern.

“I always say this house is a little reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe, Frankenstein and the old world Gilded Age,” Medley added, describing the eclectic aesthetic of her Massachusetts compound.

As Brave walks down the stairs, she is greeted by a sentimental painting by famed artist Guy Stanley Philoche, which was purchased by her beloved late husband Richard Medley.

“(Richard) used to go to school auctions and he was the one who would always put his hand up and just buy things. It just drove me crazy!” she remembered.

“And he bought this painting. It was donated to Sacred Heart Auctions and he bought it…for about $10,000.”

Years later, Dorinda met Philoche and discovered that Richard, who died in 2011, had received the painting when it was valued at $10,000, but it was now worth a whopping six figures.

“He was like, ‘Did you know this thing is actually worth about $100,000?’ So I had to get him insurance immediately,” Dorinda continued. “So it’s funny… I always think about that story and I always think about Richard when I come down (the stairs) in the morning.”

Another piece of art that brings back fond memories for Dorinda is this dazzling photograph of Marmite, reminiscent of her time in London.

“I call this little corner of Blue Stone Manor my corner of ‘Living in London,’” she said, referring to the painting of the British delicacy that hangs at the foot of her stairs.

“I saw this piece in a gallery in London 100 years ago. When (my daughter) Hannah was little, she loved Marmite. And Marmite is such a cultural thing in London. You almost had to grow up with Marmite to like it,” recalls Dorinda, who lived in the UK capital for ten years.

The Bravolebrity admitted that she personally “could never get used to” the taste of the yeast spread, but still wanted to honor Hannah’s love for it with a piece of art.

“It seems like every kid in London or in Britain loves Marmite,” Dorinda explained. “So of course I had to buy this wonderful Marmite painting. It’s such a great topic of conversation.”
