The Magic of Donovan Mitchell: Cleveland Cavaliers Sink Milwaukee Bucks to Stay Perfect

MILWAUKEE — Donovan Mitchell scored with less than one second left as the Cleveland Cavaliers cruised to a 114-113 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks to preserve their unbeaten start to the season on Nov. 2.

The Bucks looked poised for just their second win of the National Basketball Association (NBA) campaign after Damian Lillard’s 41-point performance gave his team a 113-112 lead after draining a jumper with 10 seconds left.

But Mitchell skilfully ran through the final few seconds before nervously lowering the final bucket and leaving the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee in stunned silence.

There was still time for Lillard’s last attempt to score, but the Bucks star’s shot bounced off the backboard and Cleveland sat with a perfect 7-0 record atop the Eastern Conference.

Mitchell, who had 30 points, four assists and three rebounds, recorded his game-winning rebound shot that set up teammate Isaac Okoro’s possession minutes earlier.

“It’s not the shot, it’s the rebound of Isaac Okoro,” he said. “That’s the whole point. I did my job, Isaac did his job, we all did our jobs.

“This is a big victory. They played their asses off. As a group, we just keep fighting and scratching.”
