After the inauguration, members of President Prabowo Subianto’s Red and White Cabinet went to a boot camp at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java, aimed at building team spirit before they began working together. The program was mandatory for all members of Prabowo’s cabinet, including ministers, deputy ministers, heads of government agencies, presidential advisers, special envoys and special staff, even though they attended the orientation program at Prabowo’s residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java. before their inauguration.

During the three-day boot camp from 25 to 27 October in Magelang, all cabinet ministers took part in physical activities such as marches and outdoor activities, as well as attending public lectures, all under strict schedules and discipline.

Central Java, where Magelang is located, is a major electoral battleground, with the third largest number of voters after West Java and East Java. In the February presidential race, Prabowo, with the full support of his predecessor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, won 12 million votes, convincingly beating Ganjar Pranowo (7 million votes), the former governor of Central Java, and Anies Baswedan (2 million votes). .

The upcoming gubernatorial election on November 27 will test Prabowo’s political influence in Central Java as his party candidate Gerindra Ahmad Lutfi, a former police chief in Central Java, will take on former Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) commander Andhika Perkasa, who is running on the Ticket Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), the dominant force in the province.

Prabowo used the cabinet closure to work through several key issues of his rule, such as nationalism, his priority programs for food security and energy self-sufficiency, and the continued depletion of natural resources.
