Bucks star’s home robbed during game

The home of Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis Jr. was burglarized during the Bucks’ 114-113 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday. On Sunday, Portis posted on social media that his home had been burglarized and urged anyone with information about the situation to contact him.

“I consider Milwaukee home.” Portis wrote on X. “Last night, while I was at work, my house was burglarized and many of my valuables were stolen. If you have any tips or information, please send them to [email protected]. Rewards for information leading to recovery or arrest!”

In his post, Portis included a video of the robbery and a video of himself addressing Milwaukee.

“What good, Milwaukee,” Portis said. “For the past four and a half seasons, I have called Milwaukee home. I grew up here, came here as a boy and grew into a man. The love you guys show me here is something I have never experienced before. I’ve felt this before in my NBA career, I’ve been playing in the league for ten years, over ten, can you believe it?”

“I always felt like I had to give it back to you guys. I was trying to uplift the community and make Milwaukee a better place. He hosted meals, spoke regularly with young people, and invited low-income people. groups for games, etc. You name it, I did it and continue to do it. Like I said, I consider this place my home, so why not make yours a better home, I know we did? for a terrible start to the season, but while I was at the game yesterday, my home was broken into and they took most of my prized possessions.”

Portis signed with the Bucks in November 2020 and helped Milwaukee win the championship in 2021. He re-signed with the Bucks in 2022 to a four-year deal worth $49 million. He is currently in his fifth season with the Bucks, making his tenure in Milwaukee the longest of his career.

He had 10 points and eight rebounds Saturday against the Cavaliers and is averaging 11 points per game this season.
