MANILA, Philippines — Jayden Rees Ballado and Anthony Bjorn Castigador put in impressive performances to each win two titles at the Puerto Princesa Palawan National Junior Tennis Championships held in Palawan over the weekend.

Their victories, including thrilling three-set matches, were the highlight of the tournament, where they shared MVP honors.

In the women’s division, No. 2 Ballado showed her mettle with a three-set win over No. 4 Zita Clarke to claim the under-16 title by a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 decision. She then dominated Michaela Encarnacion 6-1, 6-1 to claim the major under-18 title, highlighting her status as the highest-ranked player in the category.

Meanwhile, top seed Castigador proved his mettle in the U14 boys division by sweeping his opening opponents in straight sets to defeat Armic Cerillo 6-4, 6-2 in the final. He capped his campaign by defeating top seed Gavin Kraut in a tense final 1–6, 7–6 (9), 6–4 in the under-16 final, matching Ballado’s achievement of two titles in the tournament.
