While each generation is called by names such as Boomers, Millennials, Generation Z, Generation X, there are many micro-generations in between that are losing their distinct identities as they fall into both directions. Zillennials these are people born between 1997 and 2002 and falling between Millennials (1981–1996) and Generation Z (2000–2012).

They often face an identity crisis, and Lauren Farina, CEO of Invited Psychotherapy and Coaching, explained to Business Insider that Zilleennials are high-performing archetypes who strive for perfectionism and exhibit agreeable qualities. She added that they face numerous burnout pitfalls. and anxiety, as they cannot fully integrate into the group and often feel guilty.

Millennials are influenced by both millennials and Gen Z in the workplace. Although many companies were founded by millennials, they have managed to be flexible. work-life balance and had a collaborative work culture, and now, thanks to Gen Z’s progressive mindset of career-oriented work with flexible work schedules and preferences, Zilleennials are caught in the middle and are being influenced as they worry about their mental health and their work-life balance.

Although Zillenials started hiring labor in 2016, it was during the recession period and soon after 3 years the pandemic came which created a sense of job insecurity for them as competition was high and job stability was very unstable. With several companies going bankrupt in the wake of the COVID pandemic, the job landscape in 2022 has become very uncertain and frequent inflation has disrupted the work mindset of Zilleennials.
