NBA fans react to Ben Simmons’ injury report ahead of Nets vs. Grizzlies game

NBA fans react to Ben Simmons’ injury report ahead of Nets vs. Grizzlies game

Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons has appeared in six of his team’s seven games to start the season. The three-time NBA All-Star is averaging 5.8 points, 6.2 assists and 6.0 rebounds in 24.4 minutes per game as the Nets go 3-3 in the games he has played (3-4 overall ).

The Nets are being cautious with Simmons due to his injuries and are not allowing him to play back-to-back games just yet. Because of this, the former No. 1 overall pick was pulled from Monday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies after playing 24 minutes on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons.

Via Shareef Phillips-Keaton of Nets Wire: “With Ben Simmons playing today, Jordi Fernandez has confirmed that he will not play tomorrow night against the Grizzlies as the team is still keeping him on the treatment plan for a lower back injury. The last time Simmons played both games in a row was January 25-26, 2023.”

NBA fans reacted to this injury news.

Via @Theman512697841: “This is the best Ben Simmons tweet ever.”

Via @JaredLe16625061: “I don’t fully understand this tweet.”

Via @MSUKB_Bets: NBA Players in 2024: “Yeah, I can definitely suit up today. Yes, tomorrow too? No, man, that would be too much.”

While some fans have expressed their disappointment and confusion at this development for Simmons, it is consistent with how some teams around the league have approached injured players.
