Newcastle United’s four best chances in the 2024/25 Premier League – bookmakers react after the Arsenal match

Newcastle United’s four best chances in the 2024/25 Premier League – bookmakers react after the Arsenal match

Some very interesting Premier League top four odds (and other possibilities) for the 2024/25 season when it comes to Newcastle United, as bookmakers take stock after Saturday’s win over Arsenal.

This major victory was achieved by NUFC in the tenth round of the Premier League.

The Premier League is now preparing for the November international break after Newcastle United visit the City Ground next Sunday.

Bookmakers and punters are reacting to how things currently stand in the Premier League table (see below) and also, of course, how they now see the key strengths of various teams and squads.

Below are the general Premier League odds now available from various bookmakers for the 2024/25 season (odds after the first round of PL games are in brackets):

Win the Premier League:

6/4 (11/8) Manchester City

2/1 (13/2) Liverpool

4/1 (9/5) Arsenal

20/1 (40/1) Chelsea

40/1 (33/1) Tottenham

125/1 (66/1) Aston Villa

200/1 (40/1 Newcastle United

200/1 (1000/1) Nottingham Forest

200/1 (28/1) Manchester United

300/1 (200/1) Brighton

So Newcastle United currently in seventh place, most likely…

The very top looks interesting, perhaps the most difficult to predict in the Premier League for some time, especially given that Manchester City have now won just three of their last six Premier League matches, including defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday.

Here’s what the Premier League table looks like today (Monday 4 November 2024):

Premier League table, 4 November 2024

Relegation to the Premier League:

1/3 (1/1) Southampton

1/2 (10/11) Ipswich

11/10 (1/2) Leicester

6/4 (7/2) Wolves

5/2 (5/2) Everton

6/1 (10/1) Palace

12/1 (12/1) Manchester City

14/1 (20/1) West Ham

16/1 (7/1) Brentford

25/1 (11/2) Fulham

50/1 (3/1) Forest

66/1 (7/1) Bournemouth

150/1 (40/1) Chelsea

250/1 (40/1) Brighton

300/1 (250/1) Manchester United

500/1 (250/1) Newcastle United

500/1 (200/1) Villa

2.000/1 (250/1) Tottenham

2000/1 (2000/1) Liverpool

2000/1 (2000/1) Arsenal

Eddie Howe’s side are now seen as the fourth least likely to be relegated in the 2024/25 season.

If you’re wondering about Manchester City’s 12/1 relegation odds, that’s due to the possibility (probability?) of severe penalties for the 115 Premier League charges they face, which could include, among other sanctions, a points deduction or even demotion. This hearing is reported to be ongoing.

Complete the top four in the Premier League:

1/12 (1/2) Liverpool

1/8 (1/9) Arsenal

1/5 (1/7) Manchester City

8/11 (9/4) Chelsea

5/2 (9/4) Tottenham

5/1 (7/2) Villa

6/1 (9/4) Newcastle United

7/1 (11/1) Brighton

11/1 (2/1) Manchester United

25/1 (100/1) Forest

28/1 (100/1) Bournemouth

80/1 (66/1) Fulham

I think this is where you, like me, will pay the most attention.

Can Newcastle United return to the Premier League’s top four and qualify for Champions League football?

Well, bookmakers now believe NUFC are likely to finish seventh after that win over Arsenal.

Recent defeats have seen United take much longer odds despite an overall decent performance. The question now is whether Eddie Howe’s side can finally secure deserved victories over Chelsea in the cup and the Gunners in the Premier League.

As you can see from the table above, Newcastle United are just three points off the top four in the Premier League, having already faced Manchester City, Arsenal, Spurs, Brighton in their first ten matches. Bournemouth and Chelsea are six of the nine teams currently above them.
