Crews respond to fatal crash on highway near Silver Creek | News, Sports, Vacancies

A crash on the New York State Thruway appears to have claimed a life.

Around 8 a.m. Monday near Exit 58 of the Silver Creek and Irving Freeway, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at mile marker 455.2 westbound near the Buffalo Road overpass. County EMS, Irving Fire Department, Silver Creek Fire Department and law enforcement are responding. A coroner was also called to the scene.

At 8:15 a.m., Thruway reported that lanes between exits 57A and 58 were blocked.

According to preliminary data, the victim could be a builder.
