A lieutenant with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio posted troubling messages on social media, implying he would withhold aid from Democrats.

October 20 Lieutenant. John Rogers published a post on Facebook in which he categorically stated that he would not help the Democrats. His district notably includes Springfield, a city that has gained national attention thanks to the former president’s unsubstantiated claims. Donald Trump and its supporters that Haitian immigrants eat local pets.

“I’m really sorry,” Rogers said. “If you support the Democratic Party, I will not help you.”

This post was one of several. In one of them, Rogers simply said: “Kamala Harris represents SATAN.” In another, a lieutenant said he would force people to “provide proof of who you voted for if you ask me for help.”

“Guns and ammo are not cheap,” Rogers added in his post.

In the fourth post, he stated that he “won’t help you through the end of days.”

In response to the posts, Deputy Chief Mike Young sent an application to WHO saying:

It is clear that while these comments are highly inappropriate, they are in no way reflective of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office’s delivery of services to our ENTIRE community and do not reflect the mission and values of the Sheriff’s Office. The community has a right to be dissatisfied with the actions of Lt. Rogers and he, like the Sheriff’s Office as a whole, will have to work even harder to restore the trust of our community members.

WHIO also obtained information between Rogers and his executives. In his post, Rogers reportedly said he did not remember writing the messages. He also told them that the sleeping pills he was prescribed were causing him to behave “out of character.”

Rogers received a written reprimand but will remain on duty.
