When will Stardew Valley 1.6 be released on consoles? Switch, PS5, Xbox and more

There are several cozy games as successful and beloved as Stardew Valleyso it’s no surprise that it has been receiving regular updates since its release in 2016.

Update 1.6 for Stardew Valley was released back in March 2024 for PC, adding new festivals and events, NPC dialogues, farm types, more petsand much more. Unfortunately, the update did not immediately release on consoles, leaving farmers playing on smartphones, Switch, Xbox or PlayStation waiting for all the new content.

It’s been quite a journey, but update 1.6 is finally available to console and mobile players. Here’s what you need to know.

When will Stardew Valley update 1.6 be released on consoles?

Update 1.6 finally arrived on consoles on November 4, 2024. The update’s activation on these platforms is part of the larger 1.6.9 update that is being released simultaneously on PC. You can read Update 1.6 Notes check it out Patch 1.6.9 notes here.

Responding to fans on Twitter earlier this year, ConcernedApe confirmed that you can experience all of the new content in version 1.6 with an existing save, but stated that “it would be ideal to start over. For example, some new things in Year 1 are different from Year 2 and beyond. Besides, it’s fun to start a new farm, right?”
