Jeffrey Epstein Opinions About Former ‘Friend’ Donald Trump in Unearthed Audio Recording

Disgraced financier and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein said he was Donald Trump“closest friend for 10 years” in newly released audio directed by author Michael Wolf.

Epstein revealed details of his more than decade-long relationship with the New York real estate mogul during an August 2017 interview with Wolf, who published audio excerpts from a conversation on The Daily Beast on Saturday.

In the recordings, which were reviewed and verified by The Daily Beast, the late businessman describes his former friend in a variety of terms, calling him both “charming” and a “terrible person.” The recordings will be discussed in more detail on Wolf’s Fire and Fury podcast on Monday.

“He’s charming. He’s charming in a way,” Epstein said in the recording.

“To some extent, it’s a typical tragedy that he believes his own bullshit,” he continued. “He has delusions of grandeur, and then he takes it on board.”

During the conversation, which took place two years before Epstein committed suicide in 2019 after being charged with child sex trafficking, he also described Trump as an untrustworthy womanizer with a nasty character.

“He does bad things to his best friends, to his best friends’ wives, to anyone he tries to gain their trust first, and he uses that to do bad things to them,” Epstein said.

Elsewhere in the interview, the late millionaire said that despite Trump being “functionally illiterate,” he was still a “brilliant” businessman.

“As far as real estate deals go, he’s great. He’s a salesman. He knows real estate very well.” Epstein said. “Anything else besides this? He doesn’t know anything. No story, no strategy. … He certainly can’t read a balance sheet, which is funny.”

‘I wasn’t a fan of his, I can tell you that’ – Trump told a team of White House reporters at that time.

The former president’s team criticized Wolf’s reporting in a response to The Daily Beast, calling the story full of “outlandish false smears that amount to ‘election interference.’

HuffPost has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.
