Six Bangladeshi men have been rescued from an alleged human trafficking ring in Klang Sentral in Malaysia.

During the raid, carried out around 3:54 pm on November 3, Malaysia’s Immigration Department found the ring in the store, The Star reported.

Another Bangladeshi man, believed to be a caretaker, was arrested after he tried to escape through a window.

“The team seized seven Bangladeshi passports and seven mobile phones,” the department said in a statement yesterday (November 4).

“The syndicate will attract Bangladeshis seeking employment here on tourist visas, passports and flights will be operated by the syndicate.

“Each person was charged a fee of about RM15,000, while those who wanted to leave the house had to pay an additional RM5,000,” it added.

The suspect was later lodged in Shah Alam police custody while the victims were admitted to a shelter home.
