Investigators in the search area of the Jodi Huysentruit case outside the Twin Cities

MASON CITY, Iowa (WBAY/WSAW) – Website Organizers FindJodi.com the tip is said to have led to new leads in the 30-year search for Jody Huisentruit.

Huisentruit was a television journalist from Minnesota who disappeared on June 27, 1995, in Mason City, Iowa. Wiesentruit was 27 years old when she disappeared.

According to CBSWhen she didn’t show up to the TV station for her morning assignment, concerned colleagues alerted the police. Outside her apartment building, police found evidence of a struggle, especially around her car, which was still parked in the parking lot. Investigators believe someone attacked her as she headed to her car for her morning news shift.

Mason City investigators recently searched an area in Winsted, Minnesota, outside the Twin Cities, following a tip.

Mason City Police Chief Jeff Brinkley confirmed the purpose of the search in a brief statement to FindJodi:

“MCPD recently worked with Minnesota law enforcement officials to investigate Winstead. MCPD continues to regularly receive, evaluate and monitor information related to the disappearance of Jodie Huysentruit. Information obtained from these efforts will be used in the ongoing investigation. There is no additional information to be released publicly at this time. We want to encourage anyone with information regarding Jodi’s disappearance to contact MCPD or the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.”
