PAOK suffered serious injury ahead of match against Manchester United as ‘MVP’ now ruled out

Manchester United have appointed Ruben Amorim but are now preparing for a crucial Europa League clash against PAOK.

All attention is around Manchester United was included Ruben Amorim in recent days.

Amorim appointed as United’s new head coach after winning two league titles with Portuguese Sporting.

United sack Erik ten Hag last week and moved quickly to secure his replacement in Amorim.

These moves have all but overshadowed Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea and it is important to turn attention to Europa League action this week.

United host Greek side PAOK at Old Trafford on Thursday night, with Ruud van Nistelrooy back in charge.

PAOK injured before the match against Manchester United

United really should win this match.

The Europa League campaign began with three draws in a row against Twente, Porto and Fenerbahce.

The result in Turkey could have been much worse if not for Andre Onana saves United twice.

United simply must win this time around and caretaker manager Ruud van Nistelrooy will be looking to take all three points this time around. Old Trafford.

However, PAOK suffered a setback ahead of the match as star playmaker Giannis Konstantelias looked set to miss the match.

Konstantelias left the game against PAS Lamia on Sunday and does not appear ready to return.

SportDog Greece reports that Konstantelias has been ruled out of plans for the United game “due to injury” and will not be included in PAOK’s squad.

The 21-year-old talent is a key player for PAOK and was even named PAOK’s “Most Valuable Player”. United official website.

United do not appear to have to worry about Konstantelias this week as the attacking midfielder could miss the match.

PAOK results give United hope

United need a win and PAOK’s record this season will give hope of a home win.

PAOK started their campaign with a 3-1 defeat to Galatasaray before losing 1-0 at home to Romanian club FCSB.

This is the team United need to beat, especially at Old Trafford, and after a difficult start to the European campaign, nothing short of a win is acceptable.
