After lawsuit, RNC Milwaukee will not prevent poll watchers from having full access to observe voting

Chairman of the Republican National Convention Michael Whatley announced that the city of Milwaukee will give poll watchers full access to observe the voting process.

RNA filed the lawsuit on Monday. v. Milwaukee Board of Elections after the city announced it would limit the number of poll watchers allowed at certain polling places on Election Day.

Milwaukee has limited the number of poll watchers at three early voting sites. according to the lawsuit.

The commission told inspectors-in-chief: “While most of our polling stations are large enough to accommodate several observers, there are some that have very small voting rooms. These inspector generals will limit the number of observers to two at a time, one from each political party,” the lawsuit states.

“However, there was no legal basis for the Chief Inspector to limit the number of observers to two at any of the polling stations. These areas have enough space for more observers. This was an arbitrary decision,” the RNC complaint states.

Whatley says the message on X that the lawsuit successfully forced the city to lift the restrictions.

“Big Win for Badger State Voters!” Whatley said.
