Traffic restrictions for Chhath Puja in Gautam Budh Nagar

NOIDA: In view of Chhath Puja celebrations, Gautam Budh Nagar traffic police have announced diversions for smooth movement of vehicles in the district, officials said on Tuesday, adding that road diversions will be carried out from November 6 to 8. impact on heavy and medium-duty trucks. If necessary, cars can also be redirected to alternative routes.

Among the key places where traffic diversion will occur during this period will be Kalindi Kunj route, Sector 21A of Noida Stadium, Chotpur/Behlolpur, Hindon Bridge, Kulesara. The traffic police advised passengers to plan alternative routes for this period.

“During Chhath Puja, we are expecting heavy traffic volume in certain areas and changes in traffic flow will be introduced from Wednesday for smooth movement and ease of congestion. We ask passengers to use alternative routes and cooperate with traffic police officers. Our team will be on site to assist and troubleshoot any issues and for assistance, citizens can contact us at the traffic helpline number 9971009001,” Yamuna Prasad, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Noida.

The affected routes will include the Kalindi Kunj route from the Mahamaya flyover to Sarita Vihar via Delhi, where movement of vehicles traveling to and from the city may be affected. The Noida Stadium in Sector 21A, the central venue for Chhath celebrations, will also see diversions affecting both local and through traffic, Gautam Budh Nagar police said.

Additionally, at Chotpur and Bahlolpur in Sector 63, there will be restrictions on vehicles in the area. Finally, the Hindon Bridge at Kuleshhar will have diversions for traffic between Surajpur and Phase 2, which may impact both heavy and light vehicles.

As per the traffic plan, traffic coming from Greater Noida will be diverted to the Charkha roundabout, which takes vehicles towards Delhi via the DND (Direct Delhi-Noida Route) flyover and Chilla Road. If the volume increases, then it will be possible to lay passenger cars using the same principle, the traffic police reported. For vehicles coming from Sector 37 along the Mahamaya flyover route, a diversion will be implemented at Gaushala Roundabout, diverting traffic towards Charkha Roundabout.

Similarly, traffic coming from Surajpur to Stage 2 via Hindon Kuleshara Bridge could be diverted at Kachchi Sadak T to follow the route towards Kisan Chowk, depending on the level of congestion.

The authorities along with various local and cultural committees are creating extensive facilities for devotees to ensure a hassle-free experience.

The celebration is expected to attract thousands of devotees and the expected total turnout, including visitors, will be in excess of lakhs.
