Marty Cifuentes: QPR boss ‘100% confident’ he can turn the struggling Championship club’s season around

Goals from Riley McGree, Tommy Conway and substitutes Emmanuel Latte Lat and Dan Barlaser for Boro handed QPR their fourth home league defeat of the season.

The Hoops had drawn each of their previous three games, including commendable 0-0 results against promotion-chasing Burnley and Sunderland, but after this latest defeat there were loud cheers at the full-time whistle at Loftus Road.

“I hope they see a team that is trying their best,” Cifuentes said.

“Unfortunately, it hasn’t been enough so far, so I think it’s fair that they’re unhappy at the moment.

“Nobody is happy. I’m not a happy coach, the players are unhappy with the results we are getting at the moment.”

“But the only solution is to stay together. Because this was, I think, the main key to our success last season in a very difficult situation.

“And this season will probably be the same in the sense that we need everyone, so hopefully we can start to get the results we want and get the points we need.”
